THE MALISATTVA
.
my aim
My greatest fear is leaving the room half dim. In all that I am and in all that I do, my highest goal is to illuminate and inspire. The Malisattva is a play on words that includes the first 4 letters of my name and the Sanskrit term ‘‘sattva’’, which means stillness of mind. I hope to inspire my readers with the flow of energy and likeness of minds to explore avenues of life yet seen and spark journeys of true fulfillment and light. This community begins with the opening of hearts and the burning desire to be free.
Letting Go of the Ego
In our search for our deepest unknown, we shake, quiver, and tremble at the idea that we are doing something wrong. We stand there alone in the mirror, searching for an answer in our reflection, seeking a resolve that soothes the aches and pain of our minds in the present. As we break free from the shackles of our own inflictions we find a woman, man, child, bursting for recognition. Not knowing that we carry the answers in our DNA, soul, aura, and presence.
When we are free, we learn to separate the habits that breaks us apart and reunites ourselves with the sheer resemblances of our unbreakable spirit. It is not just in some of us but in all of us. As we remember times of uncertainty, confusion, lost and pain, we call forth the light that exude through our dark layers and remind ourselves to smile at the paradox of our own bewilderment. What we aim to capture is the resolve that we can try again, begin again, start again, be again.
When we allow ourselves to break free from our self-imprisonment, we allow ourselves to be free, to be seen.

GENERAL INFO
Malika Blackwood is a writer and creative professional focused on clarity, depth, and originality. My work explores language as both structure and sensation, often blurring the line between form and feeling. With a background in black narrative and Caribbean mysticism. I approach each project with precision, curiosity, and an attention to tone. I value rhythm, restraint, and ideas that unfold slowly. Whether in long-form essays, short fiction, or poetic fragments, I aim to create work that resonates quietly but lingers. I’m available for collaboration, commissioned work, and creative dialogue.
I believe freedom and adaptability are the 2 components of my work and expression as it revolves around my storytelling and life mission, blending the two as minerals to produce an outlook on the vast complexities of modern life. I dabble in journal, mental health, and spiritual work to add definition to an ever-changing story.
